first shooting with macro lens

so i borrowed an adapter for my camera, which allows me to shoot macro like photos. the macro extensions come in 3 sizes: 12, 20 and 36 mm. i usually don't have such close looks at objects, but with these adapters it was possible and somehow satisfying. i have no idea how the difference between an adapter and a real macro lens would be. the only difference i see right now, is the price. there is one lens in an acceptable price range, the 35 mm macro lens from canon, maybe i will give it a try, stay tuned.
